A face is a key, not a record.
You are told what happens to your selfie before the camera opens, in plain language, on the same screen.

- Selfie deleted
- The selfie exists only for the duration of matching, usually under two seconds. It is never stored, shown to anyone or used again.
- Consent first
- The camera opens only after the guest agrees. The notice states what is compared, for how long, and under whose privacy policy.
- No training
- Face data from your events is never used to train or improve models. Ever.
- You hold the keys
- The host sets how long an event stays live and can delete photos and face indexes at any time. Deletion is immediate.
Who this notice is for
This notice covers two people: the guest who takes a selfie to find their photos, and the owner of the workspace that hosts the event.
The photos themselves were uploaded by the host. The host’s own privacy notice covers why the photos were taken and what the host does with them.
Your selfie
A selfie is used only to compare your face with the faces in the event’s photos. The comparison usually takes under two seconds.
The selfie is never stored, never shown to the host or to anyone else, and never used again.
Face data from any event is never used to train or improve models.
What is kept while an event is live
For every uploaded photo Glimpsee keeps a thumbnail, two download copies (SD and HD) and a numeric face signature per face. The signature cannot be turned back into a face.
A results link lets you reopen your matches for 30 days without a new selfie. It contains no face data.
Glimpsee never keeps the original file a host uploads, except briefly while it is being indexed.
Your email, if you give it
A large zip of photos is sent by email instead of being built while you wait. Only then do we ask for an email address, and only to send you the link, which works for 24 hours.
Glimpsee keeps that address after the event ends. It is never shown to the host. Write to contact@glimpsee.app to have it deleted.
How long
An event stays on Glimpsee until the host deletes it. The host can also take it offline and put it back without losing anything.
When the host deletes an event, its photos, thumbnails, face signatures and results links are removed at once. Only the credit ledger and anonymous counts, with no photo and no face data, remain.
Owners and workspaces
To run a workspace we keep the owner’s name, organization name, email address and, if given, phone number, plus the credit ledger and the events created.
Sign-in is handled by our identity service. The password you choose at signup is passed straight to it and never stored by Glimpsee.
If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name and email address with us, and nothing else. We never see your Google password and keep no access to your Google account.
We send email about the workspace: uploads finishing, credits, and the workspace being suspended or reactivated. Two of these can be turned off in Settings.
Your rights
A guest can ask the host to remove a photo they appear in; the host can delete it at once.
An owner can export their event data on request and can ask for their workspace to be deleted, which removes every event, photo and face signature.
